Capturing the things I see to be beautiful.
Jo Hemstock &
Our Gorgeous Border Collie - Tess
My love of the outdoors, led to my love of photography.
This further led me and my family (husband and two boys) to the Lake District back in 2012, where we found our beloved dog, Tess. (Please see my Facebook Page ''Captured by Rosey Jo'' to read the story of how fortunate we were to meet each other - it really is a wonderful story).
Tess then encouraged me to get out and about even more, to take even more pictures, capturing the things I see to be beautiful.
We are also very fortunate to have a fantastic view from our garden of the countryside and our local Church, which I take far too many pictures of in all seasons. (It's just so pretty at times).
My confidence was boosted in 2018, when I was fortunate enough to be in the right place, at the right time, and I captured a picture of a hare in front of a glowing mist at sunrise, whilst away in the Peak District. I was encouraged to enter this into the Countryfile Live Photography competition, and was blown away with the amount of votes and support I received, making my picture a runner up at the Countryfile Live competition at Blenheim Palace.
I loved the reactions some of my pictures received, and I really enjoy sharing them, and the pleasure they bring to people, so in January 2019 I decided to create my Facebook page to enable me to share my pictures with a larger audience.
The response my page received, particularly to people that adore Tess and her story, was quite overwhelming. We have developed such a lovely following of many people that I would now call friends.
I don't have fancy technology, just a little pocket camera that I use to take my photographs while out walking Tess. Sometimes, sharing just one image, or sometimes a few of a particular walk.
Each year, I produce a calendar of some of my favourite pictures I have taken through out the year - so please flag your favourites to me if you think they would be good on a calendar. I also produce greeting cards for sale though this website, or by messaging me on Facebook.
This is just a little hobby really, to help fund what I do, and to perhaps enable us to go on a little weekend away to take more pictures of somewhere new, so I really do appreciate your support and encouragement.
I hope you enjoy the photos that I will continue to share with you.
Love,
Jo and Tess
